Wight (Proprietor)
Eric has worked with Dogs for over thirty years starting out as
a "whipper in" at a local Beagle kennel. He became interested
in the working side of dogs and has competed successfully in Obedience,Agility
and Working Trials with breeds as diverse as Gsd,.Boxer, French
Briard,Jack Russell and the humble "Hienz" to name but
a few.Eric specialises in dealing with our more difficult behavioural
cases and many dogs which were visiting the"last chance saloon"
through problems of aggression etc have been returned home to live
a normal and happy life after attending one of our residential courses. He
has extensive knowledge and experience with a huge range of breeds
and is very aware of the need to treat each pupil with an individual
and personal approach, rather than the old ideas of one system for
every dog.Eric's approach is unique in as much as he spends a great
deal of time chatting with the owners whilst observing the interaction
they have with their dogs and only when he has a very clear idea
of the root of the problems does he decide on a training course
for your particular dog.Eric believes that the vast majority of
training has what he describes as a "Bandaid approach"
that is to cover up the problem rather than get to it's cause and
have it removed. There have been very few cases that Eric has been
unable to help with and in each of these there has been found to
be an underlying medical problem.Eric's main interest lies now in
the breeding and training of the true working line German Shepherd
and he has recently imported some of the top bloodlines from Germany
which he is hoping to compete with in the sport of Schutzhund.
Travis Foster
Travis is our latest major discovery!!!
Although being a friend for many years Travis has only recently
agreed to come on board to help with the demand for "Quality
assured " Dog training and we feel extremely lucky to have
someone with his enormous talent, on call.To watch Trav (as we prefer
to call him) work with a dog is awe inspiring, infact in the world
of Schutzhund, (where men are men and the bars are busy!) it is
only Travis who commands complete silence when he walks onto the
field.(Whether it's the shock of his haircut or not we haven't worked
out!)Travis is not only extremely well known and respected within
the competition circuit, with his Rottweiler "The Pig"
(without doubt the most highly qualified Rotty to work in the U.k)
but he can often be seen rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous
having worked his dogs on many T.V. and Film sets.More recently
he has worked with many of the countries police forces and is one
of only a very few privileged civilian dog handlers to of attended
a Police explosive's course.If it's highly polished obedience you
want from your dog you could do no more than arrange an hour with
"our Trav" and if not book it anyway and get him to work
his own dog for you,you will leave with a whole new concept on training
your pet and probably spend the whole journey home making clicking
noises!!!
